Turkish singer Latif Bolat spent a multi-day residency with us.
While he was here, he visited Greater Ithaca Activities Center. He talked about his career as a musician with the older students.
He sang and played for the younger children…
…and even got some up dancing!
At Cornell, Latif stayed in the Hans Bethe House and performed a house concert full of discussion with the students.
Professor Andrew Hicks moderated a “Sound, Sufism, and the State: A Public Conversation with Latif Bolat” in the Department of Music.
In addition to speaking in two courses in the Near Eastern Studies Department, Latif also shared lunch with graduate students at the departmental colloquium.
