ABOUT THE ENVIRONS MESSIAEN FESTIVAL
Environs Messiaen: Nature Rendered at the Keyboard takes place March 5–9, 2015. Co-directed by Xak Bjerken and Ryan MacEvoy McCullough, this is an ambitious collaboration with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology; highlights will include a two-piano recital by Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Tamara Stefanovich and a master class by Aimard on Messiaen’s Catalogue d’oiseaux presented by the Cornell Concert Series, as well as special performances of Messiaen’s Catalogue d’oiseaux at the Lab of Ornithology and of John Luther Adams’s songbirdsongs at Cornell Plantations.
