Cornell Concert Series Turns 120!
Friday| September 15, 2023

This event is free and open to the public.
It’s our birthday every year, but this is a big one! Cornell Concert Series has roots tracing back to 1904, when the university began putting on extravagant musical offerings uniting campus and community. Please join us in Cornell’s Sidney Cox Library of Music and Dance for a celebratory reception to open an exhibit on the history of the series. Enjoy light refreshments and a background of early swing music by The Original Cornell Syncopators while perusing archival displays of CCS memorabilia, with brief remarks by Concert Manager Dr. Deborah Justice and additional scholarly friends of the series. From classical cornerstones like Fritz Kreisler and Sergei Rachmaninoff to international sensations Ravi Shankar, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and so many more superstars, Cornell Concert Series celebrates our history of bringing the world’s greatest music to you.
